Super Daddy Cricket Club (SDCC) v Butt Brothers

SDCC won the toss and decided to bat first at the DHA Moin Khan Cricket stadium. Rehan Sheikh the premier daddy batsman along with Shahzad Jumani provided a solid start of 42 runs in 7 overs. A rare rush of blood by Rehan Sheikh, the most experience batsman of the side, lost his wicket to a wide delivery outside the off stump; he made 17 runs of 19 balls with 1 four. In walked Shahram Rasool who has been in blistering form and was dismissed early on for 2 runs which was a huge blow for the batting side. Shahzad carried on with a gutsy knock of 30 runs with 4 boundaries in 22 balls. Daddies were in deep trouble with 3 wickets down in 10 overs and 58 runs on the board. It was the ever dependable partnership of Ali Mufti and Naeem Siddiqui which added 49 quick runs. Naeem got out for a quick fire 28 from 19 balls with 2 fours and 1 huge six over midwicket. The wickets kept falling but it was the career best knock of Ali Mufti who made 38 not out runs of 29 balls with two fours and a gigantic six over square leg that kept his side alive. Despite being hit on his abdominal guard, Ali’s sheer commitment and determination gave daddies a decent total of 144 runs to defend under lights in 20 overs. Saad was the pick of the bowlers for Butt Brothers with 2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. Tariq and Shayan chipped in with a wicket each.

In response, the Butt Brothers were off to great start by their openers Abid and Umair who gave them 57 runs in 8 over without any loss until Rehan Sheikh got the wicket of Umair; who scored 13 runs of 20 balls. Abid was joined by Umair Ghazi who played a decent knock of 17 runs. Abid was the real star for the Butt Brothers who kept hitting the bowlers to all corners of the ground as he scored 68 runs from 57 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. The Butt Brothers held their nerves in the end and got the target in the last over with three wickets in hand. Ali Mufti did his career best in bowling as well with figures of 4 wickets for 12 runs in 3 overs. Babar took 2 wickets and a wicket each for Rehan Sheikh and Saad were not good enough to stop the Butt Brothers from winning this thrilling encounter.
