Benitoz Panthers v TNN Titans
The semi final of the 2nd ACM Gold t20 Night League turned out to be an exciting low scoring thriller as two evenly matched teams Benitoz Panthers and TNN Titans faced each other at Moin Khan Cricket Stadium. Titans batted first and Moiz Kalwar dismissed Shakir Serang and Bilal Umer early. Idrees Amin continued playing his shots and scored 34 off 19 balls in an innings which included 5 boundaries. TNN Titans batting depth did not come to the fore this match and wickets kept falling regularly and Ali Bantwa contributed 28, Rabish 22 and Yasir Tanveer 11 runs. Captain Owais Pasta, the mainstay of TNN batting was run out after scoring 1 run as Titans were all out after having scored just 121 runs. For Panthers, Israr Ul Haq was the main bowler as he took 4 wickets while Moiz got 2 and Umer Chawla, Mohib and Waqas picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Panthers lost Tabish early but Ahmed and Israr had a good partnership of 50 runs after which Ahmed was out after having scored 27 runs. Israr played well for his 40 runs and just when it seemed Panthers would walk away with the match, Titans bowlers pulled back with some crucial quick wickets. The match swung in favor of one team to another like a pendulum and eventually Panthers needed 2 off the last bowler with the last wicket in hand. Moiz Kalwar, who had been instrumental in bowling also by removing two quick wickets of TNN Titans played the shot of his life as he dispatched the last ball for 4 to get Panthers into the final of the tournament and his shot knocked out the defending champions, TNN Titans from the tournament. For Titans who fought very hard to defend a low score, Hunain took 3 wickets while Khalid, Rabish and Imran got a wicket each. Benitoz Panthers now face Gigi Gladiators in the final of the 2nd ACM Gold T 20 Night League on May 1, 2017 at Moin Khan Stadium
