Gigi Gladiators v Benitoz Panthers
The Grand Finale of the 2nd ACM Gold t20 Night League was held at Moin Khan Cricket stadium between Benitoz Panthers and Gigi Gladiators. Gigi Gladiators won the toss and decided to field first and it seemed the right decision as Kamil and Adnan Ghazi removed 3 quick wickets of Madni, Sumail and Israr and Panthers were reeling at 9 for 3. Hamza followed soon after having scored 4 runs but Tabish with 37 runs and Saad with 22 runs and Mohib with 23 runs fought back but Panthers could only manage 123 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the designated 20 overs. Gladiators were happy with their bowling performance as they restricted Panthers to a low score and all the bowlers contributed as Adnan Ghazi took 2 wickets while Kamil, Hammad, Danial, Richie, Rafay and Zeeshan picked up a wicket each.
Boasting a large batting line up, it seemed the chase would be a walk in the park for the Gladiators as they cruised to 40 for 0 in the first 4 overs as Adeel Khan hit the ball to all corners of the park. However, when Adeel was out for 23 and Adnan Salim after having scored 13, disaster struck as the star studded line up of Gladiators succumbed to the battle of nerves and wickets kept on falling like dominoes and none of the batsmen could get to double figures. The whole team was all out for just 67 runs. Some extraordinary bowling and fielding by Panthers helped them win this tournament for the first time and all credit to their bowlers especially Mohib who took 3 key wickets while Umer Chawla got 2 wickets and Asadullah, Israr, Moiz and Hamza pitched in with a wicket each.
Benitoz Panthers are the Champions of the 2nd Acm Gold t20 league, a tournament which saw some excellent and close games being played and with the Panthers coming out as the dominant force among the 8 teams that participated in the tournament.
Benitoz Panthers won by 56 runs and took home the cup.
