The Knight Riders took on the Gigi Woman CC in another match of the KK Women's Night Cricket Tournament 2017 at the Kokan Ground
Batting first the Knight Riders successfully put up a strong total of 62 runs in their allotted 6 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Opener Javeria Rauf put on a fantastic display with the bat scoring 23 runs of just 14 balls at a strike rate of 164.3 in an innings which included 1 gigantic six. Gigi Women's CC's bowlers Bakhtawar Baloch, Areesha Elahi and Zainab Hameed each took 1 wicket to give their side some hope of chasing the target set for them.
The Knight Riders started their defence with Ayesha Amjad and Sana Taj dismissing both the openers early in the chase. Nevertheless Alina and Zunaira Shah fought hard for the Gigi Women's CC by scoring 16 off 5 balls and 20 of 15 balls respectively. However it was for the tight bowling from Zara Bandooqwala ( 2 overs 2 wickets for 4 runs ) and Romana Arshad ( 1 over 5 runs ) that ensured a Knight Riders victory as Gigi Women's CC were left stranded at 60/5 at the end of their 6 overs.
