The Knight Riders took on the Blasters in another match of the on-going KK Women's Night Tournament, at the Kokan Ground, on Thursday night.
After being put in to bat, Sana Taj and Umaima Sohail came out all guns blazing for the Knight Riders to give their team a solid opening foundation. Sana Taj top scored with a 13 ball 40, that included 5 boundaries and 2 sixes, at a strike rate of 308, while fellow opener Umaima Sohail, contributed with an 11 ball 30 comprising of 1 four and 3 gigantic sixes. However, both openers were forced to retire hurt much to the relief off the opposition. The knight Riders ended their quota of 6 overs having scored 101 runs for the loss of 2 wickets; the top score of the tournament so far.
The Blasters Women started their innings in a rather shaky manner with opener Nabeela Khan retiring hurt after scoring just 1 run and Noor Junejo being sent back to the pavilion by Muneeba Ali for 0. The Knight Riders continued to show their superiority in the field with 4 run-outs to completely over power their opposition. Muneeba Ali was the pick of the bowlers taking 1 wicket for 5 runs in her 2 overs. The Blasters ended their innings at 43/6 in 6 overs.
The Knight Riders Women beat The Blasters Women by 58 runs.
