The Rockets came up head to head with the smashers, at the Kokan ground, in the league match of the KK Women's Night Tournament played late on Friday night.
Batting first the Rockets were off to a flying start with opener Iqra Rani contributing 21 runs of 19 balls with one boundary to her name. Fellow opener Kinza Wahab also made a run a ball 9 with one boundary. For the Smashers Yusra and Masooma Jafri were the wicket takers with 1 wicket to each of their names. The Rockets ended their innings with a grand total of 64 runs for 2 wickets largely due to an additional 33 extra runs.
The Smashers were off to a shaky start after losing both openers, Saniya and Yusra early in the chase. However Shahnoor played a responsible innings of 11 runs with 1 boundary. Kinza Wahab was the only wicket taker for the rockets with 1 wicket for 11 runs. The Smashers, at the end of 6 overs, could only manage 60 runs, which included 26 extras.
At the end of the day, The Rockets came out victorious by a mere 4 runs.
