The Smashers came up against the Sparks, in a well contested match, played at the Kokan ground, during the KK Women's Night Tournament on Friday night.
After opting to bat first, the Smashers recovered from a slow start with batswomen Yusra and Yumna scoring 20 runs (3 boundaries) and 13 runs respectively of 11 balls each. For the Sparks, the pick of the bowlers was Hira Kazim giving 7 runs in her 1 over. The Smashers ended their quota of 6 overs at 62 for 2 to set the Sparks with a competitive target for victory.
The Sparks entered the chase all guns blazing with opener Sana scoring a rapid 20 runs off 13 balls with the aid of 3 boundaries. However strike bowler for the Smashers, Masooma Jafri came out on top again with fantastic figures of 2 overs 5 runs and 3 crucial wickets. For the remainder of the innings, the Sparks could not find the right momentum and ended their innings at 44/5 in 6 overs.
The Smashers came out victorious by 18 runs.
