In another fixture of the 8th Challengers Corporate Club 2017, Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP) faced Group-M at the Al Mansoora Ground.
IAP, decided to bat first, and were off to a blistering start with both openers dispatching the ball to all parts of the ground. Umer Ishtiaq contributed with a solid 28 ball knock of 37 runs with 5 fours and a six to set the momentum for a high total. However, it was Kashif Rajput who stole the spotlight, with a breath taking inning of 114 runs in only 64 balls, with 13 boundaries and 6 huge sixes to his name. Middle order batsman Ahmed Nawaz also scored 33 runs with the aid of 4 fours. For Group-M, Hasan Zameer and Ali picked up 1 wicket each. IAP, at the end of 20 overs, scored a massive total of 203 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets.
Group-M kicked off their chase in a positive fashion with opener Farukh scoring 53 runs of 50 balls, in an innings that included 4 fours and 1 six. However, IAP were always in control with Saeed Khan and Hussain Mustafa picking up 2 wickets each for 29 and 21 runs respectively. Nevertheless, Group-M kept fighting with middle order batsmen Murtaza, scoring a valiant 60 runs in 30 balls, at a strike rate of 200. His cameo witnessed 7 boundaries and 3 maximums. Despite this, IAP's Target was too much for Group-M, who could only manage 163 runs.
IAP won the match by 40 runs.
