In a group match of the 8th Challengers Corporate Cup 2017, played at the Eastern Star Ground, Maisha Systems took on TenPearls in a match that went right down to the wire.
Batting first, Maisha Systems took off in a confident manner with Najam Butt striking the balls to all parts of the ground. His 37 ball knock of 59 runs included 3 fours and 5 huge sixes. Fellow teammate and middle order batsmen, Faisal Haroon Badshah then came out to smack 53 runs in 36 balls, with 2 fours and 3 sixes, to lead his team to a competitive 171 runs, for the loss of 6 wickets, in 20 overs. For the TenPearls, Ali Raza and Zohair Atique took 2 wickets apiece.
TenPearls were off to a similar start like their opponents with the middle order taking the responsibility of the run chase. M Ali scored a praise worthy 40 runs in 23 balls with 6 fours and a six while Zohaib Baiq contributed with 33 runs, in an innings that saw just 3 boundaries. With the Maisha Systems' bowlers on top of their game, TenPearls were restricted to 165 runs at the end of 20 overs. Muhammad Ghufran took 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs.
