In a friendly match played at the NED Ground, Samba Bank faced PNSC, in what turned out to be a thriller of a game.
Batting first, PNSC were off to a shaky start with none of the top 3 batsmen succeeding to score big. However, middle order batsman Riaz top scored with a confident 23 runs, to ensure that his team would reach an above average score. Hamza ended the innings on a positive note with a brisk 14 runs to propel his team to 99 runs at the end of the innings. Samba Bank bowled in an exceptional manner, with Ayaz Ali taking 3 wickets for 25 runs and Yousuf scalping 2 wickets for 15 runs.
Chasing 100 runs, at only 5 runs an over, Samba Bank started well with Farhan and Mujtaba Mehdi playing well. Farhan scored 14 runs in 12 balls while his partner played well for his 21 ball knock of 23 runs, Nevertheless, PNSC fought back into the game with Imran Tariq taking 3 wickets for 25 runs, in his 4 overs. Nabeel also bowled well, picking up 2 wickets for just 7 runs. However, Samba Bank still managed to cross the line, courtesy Shahrukh’s knock of 11 runs in 7 balls.
Samba Bank won the match by 2 wickets.
