Karachi Patriots v Eagles Cricket Club
Karachi Patriots faced Eagles Cricket club for the 8th residence cup league match at Hill Park cricket ground. Eagles batted first and were off to a good start as Madni Waqas Raja knocked 29 runs. However his partner Jehangir departed after scoring just 6 runs and Kashan and Rehan fell in quick succession. Asad Mahmood stabilized the free fall of wickets with a responsible 29 runs off 30 balls before Danish jatoi smashed 20 off 13 balls to get Eagles to 135 all out. For Patriots, Rizwan Merchant was the key bowler with 3 wickets while Rehan and Richie took 2 wickets each and Adeel and Ansar got a wicket each.
In reply, Patriots lost opener Nauman Mustafa on the first ball of the innings and Tayyab Balagamwala soon followed after scoring 4 runs. Faisal Butt however did not let the match slip away and hit 43 runs off just 31 deliveries and subsequently Atif Ahmed with 37 off 34 and Aamir Motiwala with 39 off 30 ensured Patriots were home comfortably for the loss of just 3 wickets. For Eagles, Hassan, Wajeeh and Rehan took a wicket each.
Karachi Patriots won by 7 wickets.
