Karachi Patriots v Hawks
Karachi Patriots played against Hawks at Navy ground as part of the 8th residence cup. Hawks batted first and Ali Mansoor Zaidi with 31 and Rameez Mehboob with 15 got them off to a good start. Hawks players continued batting aggressively as captain Idrees hit 30 off 19, Talha Butt hit 46 off 29 and Saqlain knocked 42 off 22 to propel Hawks to a very good score of 184 for the loss of 5 wickets. For Patriots, Sameer and Adeel Abbasi took 2 wickets each while Richie got a wicket.
In reply, Patriots were off to a decent start as Faisal Butt hit 32 runs and Faraz Ahmed scored 10 runs. Subsequently, Atif Ahmed with 17, Ayaz Bhesania with 24 and Adeel Abbasi with 30 runs fought back but in the end Patriots fell short and ended at 167 all out in 20 overs. A good fight but not enough to cross over the line. For Hawks, A Rehman was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets while Adil, Talha, Hasnain, Idrees and Nasir took a wicket each.
Hawks won by 17 runs.
