In a Group B encounter of the 17th Challengers Cup, played at the lush green Naya Nazimabad Ground, ZMCC faced the Karachi Star, in what ended as a one sided affair with the former team dominating.
ZMCC, after electing to bat first, were off to a confident start with opener Sohail Faizan giving his team a good foundation with his knock of 21 runs. However, it was Danish Moin who stole the spotlight, with his fantastic knock of 58 runs, in only 28 balls, which included 5 fours and 4 monstrous sixes. Mubasshir Ahmed then ended the innings on a high, scoring a brisk 26 runs, to propel his team to a healthy total of 170 runs. For the Karachi Star, Raza Hassan and Saad Samad took 2 wickets each.
The Karachi Stars, chasing a huge total of 171 runs needed a fantastic start to try and win the game. However, the ZMCC bowlers remained on top of their game, with Danish Moin and Nemat Khan picking up 3 wickets each, for 21 and 23 runs respectively. Ahmed Kapadia was the only notable contributor with the bat, scoring 20 runs in 18 balls, with a four and a six. Karachi Star were dismissed for just 84 runs, handing the ZMCC a comfortable win.
ZMCC won the match by 86 runs.
