Zahooruddin Memorial Cricket Club (ZMCC) and Karachi Patriots played at Moin Khan Cricket stadium as part of the 17th Challenger’s cup tournament. It was a match of two heroic performances for Patriots as they won the toss and after a good start of 56 runs in the circle by Faisal Butt(39 runs) and Tayyab R Balagamwala(14 runs), they had a stream of wickets fall down. However, Atif Ahmed was in his element as he hit 63 runs off 41 deliveries in which he hit 9 boundaries and a six to propel his team to a competitive 161 for 8 in 20 Overs. For ZMCC, Danish took 3 wickets while Zeeshan got 2 wickets and Naimat, Shabaz and Shoaib took a wicket each.
In reply, Patriots opening bowlers took early wickets but it was heroic performance from Sameer Ahmedani who destroyed the opposition’s batting line up with 5 wickets for just 16 runs and helped enable his team to get a comprehensive victory over the opponents. For ZMCC, notable contributors were Ali with 20 and Afzal with 17 runs. For Patriots, Adeel Abbasi took 2 wickets while Ghazanfar Richie and Rizwan Merchant also got a wicket.
Karachi Patriots won by 53 runs.
