Rising Stars played against Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana (NHG) at Al Mansoora cricket ground. The match was played as part of the 17th Challengers Cup tournament. Rising Star batted first and Adeel Rizvi with 25 runs and Abdul Rehman with 10 runs got them off to a decent start. Sarwar Khan and Danish Fatani then contributed 23 runs each before Anus Ahmed with 36 runs and Muhammad Shahid with 27 runs helped Rising Stars reach 157 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allocated 20 overs. For NHG, Atif Ali starred with the ball picking up 4 wickets while M Ali got 2 wickets and Kashif and Abbas took a wicket each.
In reply, NHG lost opener Faisal for just 1 run but Farhan Asif with 34 runs and Farrukh Rizvi with 19 runs started the counter attack. A scintillating 53 from 36 balls by Hasan Qazi and 28 from Talha Haider helped NHG cross the finish line comfortably in the end for the loss of just 4 wickets and 11 balls to spare. For Rising Stars, Zeeshan Fatani took 2 wickets while Anus and Muhammad Shahid got a wicket each. It was a fitting reply from NHG batsmen and a calculated response under a pressure situation.
NGH won by 6 wickets.
