Alliance Sports and Zam Zam Sports played the 17th Challengers Cup match at AGA Khan Gymkhana ground. Alliance batted first and Asim Haq with 22 runs and Taneem with 36 runs got them off to a good start. Shahzaib Jamil then played an exquisite knock of 47 runs to further increase the scoring rate before Idrees Durrani provided support with 22 runs and Israr Ul Haq's 16 runs propelled their team’s score to 168 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Zam Zam sports, Shahid and Sajjad got 2 wickets each while Imtiaz took a wicket.
Faced with a high target to chase but confident that the surface was good for batting, Zam Zam sports openers came out confident but Mahmood was out after scoring just 11 runs while fellow opener, Amir got 24 runs. It was then over to the experienced duo of Kamran Rehman who scored 44 off 34 deliveries while Muhammad Faizan Khan contributed 40 runs off 29 balls before he was run out . Fortunes swayed between both teams and it seemed Alliance Sports would emerge victories but Abdul Shakoor had other ideas as he hit 37 runs off just 10 deliveries at a mammoth strike rate of 370% and his innings included 3 sixes and a boundary. His knock took the game away from Alliance Sports and Zam Zam sports raced home for the loss of 7 wickets with 7 balls to spare. For Alliance, the bowlers put up a good fight and wicket takers included Khurram with 2 wickets and Israr and Faisal with a wicket each while there were 3 run outs in the innings.
