Rims Lions and Gigi Gladiators played at RLCA Ground Gulberg as part of the Memon Super League Season 2 league match. Gladiators batted first and Shakir Serang was in prime form as he hit 44 runs off just 17 deliveries at a strike rate of 259% while Atif Ahmed knocked 18 runs. Adeel Sabuwala furthered the cause with 30 runs before Adnan Salim’s late inning blitz of 36 runs off 22 deliveries along with Anas Ahmed’s 22 runs off 12 balls helped Gladiators to reach a position to score close to 200 runs. It was, however, Israr Ul Haq, who put the finishing touches on the innings by hitting 4 sixes in the 5 deliveries he faced as he scored 26 runs and Gladiators ended at 194 for the loss of 6 wickets. For Lions, Daniyal Ali got 3 wickets while Hammad, Osama and Sajjad got a wicket each.
In reply, Rims Lions lost aggressive opener Adeel khan for just 6 runs and Ahmed Husain was out after having scored just 7 runs. With Farhan Arif’s dismissal, Lions were struggling at 45 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Daniyal Ali was, however, unfazed as he hit 37 runs off just 16 deliveries at a strike rate of 316% and Shehryar Ghani with 43 along with Umair Usman with 25 runs brought Lions close to the target. Hammad Sheikhani then hit 31 runs off just 17 balls but Gladiators bowlers pulled back and Lions were all out for 174 runs after having put up a brilliant fight. For Gladiators, Adnan ghazi got 3 wickets while Israr Ul Haq starred with 4 wickets and Maroof Aziz took 3 wickets and Shahid Jiwani also picked up a wicket.
Gigi Gladiators won by 20 runs.
