Shabab Whites and Hydery CC met in the final of the Bohra Champions League and batted first. Opener Huzaifa Hassan was in form with a valuable 32 at the top. The team batted well with each of the players contributing to keep the scoreboard ticking and the momentum in their favour. Hydery bowlers also did not hold back, picking up wickets in regular intervals to main some form of control. Mustafa Qutbuddin and Mohammad Sitamu also chipped in with 24 each and eventually a cameo of 20 by Mustafa Africawala boosted Shabab Whites to 153 in 19.5 overs. Hydery bowlers were relentless on the other end with Huzaifa Muntansir picking up 3 wickets in his spell. Hamza Mustafa and Shabbir Mushtaq also did well to take 2 wickets each.
With the pressure of a final on the cards, both teams went in with a purpose to win. Things however did not go as planned as they lost opener Hussain for just 5 runs. Shabbir Mushtaq and Ibrahim Burhan then tried to lead the recovery scoring 14 and 33 respectively. Things seemed to be stabilising for the chasing side before Shabab's bowlers completely let loose, taking wickets to restrict the flow of runs. After a quick flurry of wickets, Mustafa Fazal and Adnan Johar tried to gain some momentum with their cameos of 28 and 27 but Mohammad Sitamu had a different plan in mind. His sublime spell of 4 wickets ripped through the Hydery line up giving nothing away. Shabbir also took 2 wickets as Hydery CC were limited to 147 for 9 in 20 overs.
A brilliant match. A tight finish as Shabab Whites won by just 6 runs.
