Spartans played against Daewoo at New Navy Karsaz as part of the 3rd Acm Gold t20 day league. The match was restricted to 18 overs a side. Daewoo batted first and opener Ahmer Farooqui was out for just 11 runs. Fahad and Shafaat got starts but were out for 23 runs each while Nadir chipped in 22 runs. The subsequent batsmen however could not get to double figures except for Abdul Majid who scored14 runs and Daewoo were all out for just 135 runs. For Spartans, Afwan Khalil was the pick of the bowlers in his brilliant spell of 5 wickets while Talha got 2 wickets and Abdul Samad and Ghazali Junaid picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Spartans fought hard as Waqas got 56 runs and Imran got 47 runs but the wickets kept falling and in the end, some good bowling by Daewoo enabled them to restrict Spartans to 130 for 6 in the designated 18 overs. A closely fought encounter and both teams should get credit for their outstanding performances. For Daewoo, Waseem Ali got 3 wickets and Zain and Bilal got a wicket each.
