An important match of the 3rd ACM Gold t20 day league took place at New Navy Karsaz between Karachi Patriots and Benitoz Panthers. Patriots won the toss and fielded first and the Panthers were in a spot of bother as Tabish, Ahmed, Hamza and Sumail were out in quick succession. Mohib Ahsan, however, was undeterred and played some exquisite shots around the park as he scored 87 off just 44 deliveries at a strike rate of 197% and hit 6 sixes and 4 boundaries. Saad with 21 and Madni with 13 ensured that the score reached to 183 for 6 in 20 overs. For Patriots, Adnan Ghazi got 2 wickets while Faraz, Adeel and Sameer took a wicket each.
In reply Ghazanfar Richie and Atif Ahmed got patriots off to an excellent start as Atif scored 53 runs and Richie got 46 runs and after their departure Adeel Abbasi with 27 and Adnan Salim with 16 runs continued the momentum. However wickets kept falling at the other end and despite Faraz Ahmed's late inning blitz of 13 runs in which he hit 2 sixes, Patriots ended short at 172 for 8 in 20 overs. A good close match and both teams fought till the end. For Panthers, Umer Chawla took 3 wickets, Hamza got 2 wickets and Mohib picked up a wicket.
Benitoz Panthers won by 11 runs.
