Karachi Patriots and Zam Zam sports played their first match of the 18th challengers cup at New Navy Karsaz ground. Zam Zam Sports batted first and Usman Shah was in sublime form as he hit a brilliant century and got 108 runs off just 64 deliveries and hit 4 sixes and 13 boundaries. He was complemented by Amir with 27 runs and Mahmood played a good knock of 61 runs off just 37 deliveries as Zam Zam Sports ended at 205 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Ghazanfar Richie and Rizwan merchant got wickets for Patriots.
Undeterred by the big score, Tayyab R Balagamwala and Adnan salim hit 87 runs off the first 6 overs and Adnan was out for 39 runs while Tayyab followed after scoring 48 runs. The subsequent batsmen were not that successful and only Aamir Motiwala got 34 runs while Usman Ghani and Faisal Butt got good starts but were out for just 17 runs each. Patriots fought back but were eventually out for 196 runs in this exciting encounter. For Zam Zam sports, Mahmood and Abdul Shakoor took 3 wickets each while Awais got 2 wickets and Farhan and Usman picked up a wicket each.
Zam Zam Sports won by 9 wickets.
