Karachi Patriots and Sharks CC came head to head at Moin Khan cricket stadium as part of the 18th Challengers Cup match. Sharks cc won the toss and decided to field and got two early wickets of Tayyab Balagamwala (14) and Faisal Butt (14). However one down batsman Ahmed Usama continued to play his shots and played an anchor role despite losing partners at other end as Amir Motiwala(11) and Adeel Abbasi (19) were also dismissed. Adnan Salim came to the crease and hit 5 mega sixes in his brilliant aggressive knock of 59 runs off 23 balls and Ahmed Usama carried his bat with 57 not out to ensure Patriots ended at a competitive 186 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Sharks cc, Jaseem and Taha got 2 wickets each while Farhan and Jalal got a wicket and there was one run out.
In reply, Sharks cc reply was bad also as Jaseem(6), Burhan (1) and Jalal(17) were dismissed early. Kamran with 38 runs, Haris with 27 runs and Farhan with 39 runs put up a fight but despite their hard work, Sharks cc could only amass a total of 165 for 7 in 20 overs. For Patriots, Rizwan Diwan got 3 wickets while Rizwan Merchant took 2 wickets and Afzal and Adeel picked up a wicket each.
Karachi Patriots won by 21 runs.
