Karachi Stars and Wintex Strikers played the Semi Final of Challengers FC Cup 2018-19 at Annu Bhai Park ground. Wintex batted first and lost Faraz Ahmed early after he had scored 5 runs. Tayyab R Balagamwala got 25 runs at the other end and Atif Ahmed knocked 27 runs. Rabish Ahmed then furthered the cause with 30 runs along with Ghazanfar Richie who scored 34 runs and Adeel Abbasi who contributed 21 valuable runs as Wintex strikers ended at 175 for 8 in 20 overs. For Karachi Stars, Saad kept the pressure on with 3 wickets while Tahir, Farid, Khalid, Akhtar and Daniyal took a wicket each.
In reply, Karachi Stars lost Syed Anas Mohiuddin for a duck but Ahmed with 59 runs and Fareed with 50 runs had a 112 run partnership and it seemed they would chase down the total easily but when they were out, Strikers bowlers pulled back the run flow and only Khalid managed 20 runs as Karachi stars could only reach 156 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of 20 overs. For Wintex Strikers, Saad, Salman and Adeel took 2 wickets each and Umer Khan picked up a wicket.
Wintex Strikers won by 19 runs and qualified for the finals.
