A crucial knockout game of the 20th Challengers Cup between Shark cc and Benitoz Panthers took place at Hillpark cricket ground. Shark cc batted first and lost Kamran for 7 runs while Haris and Rehan were both out without scoring. Ghazanfar with 23 and Fahad with 14 put some resistance but it was a shoddy performance by Shark cc as they tugged along to a miniscule 86 for 9 in 20 overs. Even more worrisome was the running between the wickets as there was a complete lack of understanding between the batsmen which resulted in 4 run outs. For Panthers, Umer, Hamza, Waqas, Ahmed and Mohib took a wicket each.
The reply was a comfortable chase for Panthers as despite losing Tabish for just 3 runs, Ahmed Arshad got 22, Hamza 23 and Sumail 24 to get Panthers home in the 13th over and for the loss of 4 wickets, For Sharks cc, Sameer took 2 wickets and Ali and Asad got a wicket each.
