Group B's matches ensued on Wednesday as 4 teams from Group B battled it out at the Master Oil t10 Inter University Tournament.
Match#1
DHA Suffa University batted first against IoBM with openers Ameer Hamza getting their team off to a decent start. The openers knocked 23 and 15 runs respectively but their dismissal sparked a collapse. The team lost their way with 3 run outs and a flurry of brash shots, good bowling and quick wickets dismissing 7 of the remaining batsmen in single digits. IoBM bowlers were ruthless with Abdul Moiz in particular picking up 2 wickets and the rest of the unit chipping in. DHA Suffa University were dismissed for 68 runs in 10 overs.
In response, IoBM lost opener Bilal Khan cheaply but his partner Ahmed Kabeer was sensational. His fiery 47 was all his side needed to comfortably chase down the target in just 7.4 overs. Haris Shams also contributed 11. Suffa bowlers simply could not stop the onslaught with only Hamza Ahmed picking up a wicket.

Preston University batted first against Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) in a match that went down to the wire. After Preston lost opener Ali Abbas for just 1 run, the team were never really in the game, losing wickets consistently, unable to build an innings. Waseem's 19 and Abid Kamal's 29 were the only reprieve for their side as their lower order collapsed in single digits. MAJU bowlers did well to restrict the opposition with Salman Ahmed's 5 wickets for 9 runs ripping through the line up. Preston University ended at 77 for 9 in 10 overs.
In response, MAJU struggled to chase down the target after losing opener Hamza Basit for duck. Salman Ahmed soon followed him, being dismissed for just 8 runs and despite Wajahat Ahmed's 32 and Farman Saleem's 19, the team were unable to get over the line. Preston's bowlers kept things tight with each of their bowlers picking up a wicket each. MAJU ended at 71 for 5 in 10 overs.

Preston University batted first against IoBM with their entire batting line up throwing away their wickets in single digits with the exception of Ali Abbas. It was an unbelievable display of batting by the lone fighter who singlehandedly knocked 63 runs off just 30 balls including 5 boundaries and 4 sixes. Preston University ended at a very respectable 92 for 9 in 10 overs. IoBM bowlers were consistent in their attack, picking up wickets regularly. Izaan Khan and Abdul Munim took 2 wickets each for their side.
In response, IoBM were in a world of trouble after losing their top order early on in the chase. It was valiant Izaan Khan that then carved an unlikely victory for his side with a match winning 45 runs off just 28 balls. Preston bowlers were outstanding in their efforts to try and defend the target with Talha Raees leading the attack with his 2 wickets and there were 3 run outs in the field. IoBM eventually chased down the target in 10 overs.

The final match of the day was played between IoBM and Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) IoBM batted first and came out in full form. Openers Ahmed Kabeer and Hamza Imran knocked 31 and 38 runs respectively before Izaan Khan scored 27 runs to boost IoBM to a mammoth 119 for 3 in 10 overs. MAJU bowlers were weak against the opposition, unable to pick wickets when most needed. There were 2 run outs by Salman Ahmed and a wicket by Muhammad Uzair.
In response, MAJU started off strong with Salman Ahmed and Wajahat Ahmed knocking 19 runs each. The team however continued to lose wickets but never gave up the fight. A 22 run knock by Uzair, 16 by Hashir and 10 by Hamza Basit gave the side some hope but eventually they were unable to chase down the massive target. Star players Ahmed Kabeer and Abdul Munim picked up 2 wickets each for their side. MAJU ended at 106 for 7 in 10 overs.
