Legends Cup 2019 kicked off with an exciting encounter between TNP Titans and Benitoz Panthers at Moin Khan cricket ground. Titans won the toss and decided to field first. The team however stumbled early on, losing opener Ahmed Arshad for just 8 runs. Tabish Raza knocked 22 but Danial Liaqat was in prime form as he hit an aggressive 71 off just 32 balls including 8 boundaries and 4 sixes. The team however continued to lose wickets on the other end eventually being dismissed for 142 runs. For Titans, Osama Ayub and Khalid Kaka were the key wicket takers with 3 scalps each.
In response, Titans got off to a good start as star opener Ahmed Hussain hit 38 runs off just 21 balls while Talha Ahmedani scored 21 runs. Rabish Ahmed also chipped in with 26 runs but Panthers pulled back the flow of runs picking up a few quick wickets of Owais Pasta, Afnan Karim and Muzammil Mehboob and the match went down to the wire. Eventually, Saqib Khan came to the rescue with an unbeaten 25 off just 9 balls as Titans reached home with 3 balls to spare and 2 wickets in hand. For Panthers, Waqas Vohra was the star bowler with 4 wickets while Umer Chawla took 2 wickets.
TNP Titans won by 2 wickets.
