Grounds Hawks batted first against Friends CC with opener Kashan Ahmed leading from the front. He knocked an impressive 71 off just 49 balls including 8 boundaries and 3 sixes to set the foundation for his side. Adnan Lateef's 25 and Zubair Ahmed's 30 further added to the total as Ground Hawks ended at 170 for 6 in 18 overs. Friends CC did well to pull back the opposition after the initial onslaught, picking up a flurry of quick wickets with Mubashir and Musharraf taking 2 wickets each.
In response, Friends CC started off strong in the chase with Fahad's 21 and Kashif's 37 setting the foundation for an easy victory. After the duo were dismissed however, the team continued to lose wickets consistently, unable to rebuild a partnership to take their side to victory. Haq Nawaz was exceptional in his spell, picking up 3 wickets while Afraz's 29, Musharraf's 17 and Mubashir's 32 inched their side closer to the target. Furqan Iqbal also took 2 wickets as Friends CC eventually fell short, being restricted to 162 for 8 in 18 overs. A valiant effort by their side in vain.
