What a match! VMA Suleman and Alpha CC went head to head at the 22nd Challengers Cup with the 2nd innings proving to be a real thriller!
Batting first, VMA Suleman were off to a decent start with both openers posting runs on the board. Adeel Khan knocked 14 runs and Noman Ampara scored 38. The team did well to put up a good fight with each of their batsmen contributing effectively. Rehan Hanif's 32, Ejaz Khan's 34 and Shehzad Suleman's 21 boosted their side to a defendable 176 for 8 in 20 overs. Alpha bowlers kept at it with Adeel Shamsi, Fayyaz Hussain and Yousuf Halari taking 2 wickets each, not letting the game run away.
In response, Alpha CC were off to a dream start with openers Faizan Azam and Inam Agha scoring a fiery 41 and 51 runs respectively. Things however seemed to take a turn for the worse when the duo were dismissed with 3 consecutive ducks. Adeel Shamsi and Arsal Ali then lead the recovery with 29 and 30 runs respectively and just as the side seemed to be cruising, Suleman bowlers struck once again with a flurry of quick wickets that restricted Alpha CC to 172 for 9 in 20 overs.
