Waqas Spell Inspires Shaheens Victory

Trail Blazers batted first against Shaheens CC at the Fajar Tournament with their team stumbling throughout the innings. The team lost opener Adamjee Tai for a duck and T. R. Balagamwala for just 3 runs. Ghazanfar Ritchie with 41, Faisal butt with 22, Hammad Idrees with 24 then tried to stabilize the innings but Shaheens CC bowlers did well to keep the pressure on, picking up wickets consistently.  Waqas Akber was unplayable in his spell of 4 wickets while Sadiq Suriya took 2 wicketsand Uzair, Jibran and Saad picked up a wicket each. Trail Blazers were bowled out for 136 runs.

In reply, Shaheens CC lost opener Umair Tariq cheaply for just 7 runs. The team however, recovered well after that with Saad Asif contributing 35 and Waqas Akber with 26 runs. The chasing side were in a good position, needing 60 off the last 10 overs but some good economical bowling by Murtaza SalimMohammed Afzal Ilyas, Rehan Hanif and Aamir Noor put the batsmen on the back foot and the match went down to last 2 overs with 18 needed and 4 wickets in hand. Haider razaq who had batted aggressively till now hit 3 sixes in the 19th over to get his team over the line as Shaheens CC won by 4 wickets. For Trail Blazers, the bowlers put up a good fight as Murtaza Salim took 2 wickets and Faisal, Rehan and Afzal picked up a wicket each.
