In Form Waqas Drives Avengers To Victory

KPI Sharks batted first against Karachi Avengers in a match that turned out to be a complete one sided affair. The team lost both openers for just 2 runs and struggled to really get going after that. Faraz Khan contributed a minor cameo of 17 runs but the team were unable to build any partnerships and keep the scoreboard ticking. Ismail Khan and Waheed Kapadia tried to fight back with cameos of 24 and 27 runs respectively but KPI Sharks were restricted to a modest 107 for 9 in 20 overs. There were 4 key run outs in the innings with some atrocious running between the wickets. Waqas Wakeel also picked up a couple of wickets for his side.

In response, Waqas Wakeel was an absolute delight to watch! The opener could do no wrong with 80 runs off just 38 balls at a mammoth strike rate of 210, including 8 boundaries and 4 sixes. After that, there was little the remaining batsmen needed to do and eventually, Saad Sultan's 15 runs helped Karachi Avengers to an easy victory. All KPI bowlers could do was stand and watch.

Karachi Avengers won by 9 wickets.
