Rising Stars and Rain Beat Alpha

Despite having won by the DLS method, Rising Stars were well on their way to dismantling Alpha CC at the Asifabad Ground, this past Sunday.

In defiance of the shaky start they got off to, with their top 3 succumbing having managed to put only 13 runs on the scoreboard, they managed to come back thanks to a stable 32 of 37 by Naveed Nagda and a quick 49 from 26 for Muhammad Faizan Khan, after which the rest of the batting order suffered the same fate as the opening three, thus having only scored a meagre total of 128. Yousuf Halari was outstanding in his spell, picking up 4 wickets while Jawad Ali and Areeb Naveed took 2 wickets each.

However, Rising Stars more than made up for it with their devastating bowling attack which made quick work of Alpha’s batting lineup, managing to subdue them to 62 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 11 overs when the rain intervened and the match had to be stopped prompting the use of the DLS method to award Rising Stars the victory. Zeeshan Fattani and Adnan Khan took 2 wickets each.
