Major Zeeshan and Wasim Akram ensured the victory of The Seals this Saturday at the Moin Khan Academy, against the Khan Warriors.
Thanks to a splendid opening knock of 60 runs from 44 balls by Major Zeeshan and an equally splendid 68 from 49 by middle order batsman Wasim Akram, the Navy Seals set an ambitious total of 193 runs 22 overs, which, unfortunately for their opponents, was unattainable. The credit for this victory goes in most of its entirety to these two knocks for the very reason that the rest of the batting order failed to even come close to this mark. Khan Warriors did not have an answer for the Seals right from the opening and despite a commendable effort by Shahrukh (60 from 38) and Maroof Aziz (51 from 40), it came too late in the innings to push the Warriors to a winning score. The Seals bowling attack did a great job of restricting the total to a 170, a performance that the Khan Warriors could not reciprocate.
Despite some absolutely tremendous knocks from both teams, in the end the bowling made a difference and was the deciding factor in the Seals victory.
