Benitoz overcame the modest total of 143 runs by 4 wickets, against Khas XI at the TMC Ground this past Tuesday.
Khas XI batted first and were off to a slow start until Farhan Iftikhar hit 38 runs from 31 balls followed by a 28 from 17 by Hassan Ahmed. There were no exceptional knocks from Khas XI and the added 15 extra runs put them at 143 in 20 overs. Benitoz bowlers were consistent against the opposition, picking up wickets consistently with Hassan Naeem and Bilal Amin taking 2 wickets each and the rest of the unit chipping in.
Benitoz secured a comfortable victory thanks to some well-timed and well-scoring knocks; opener Ahmed Arshad scoring 35 from 37 and middle order Daniyal and Haseeb Nadeem making 24 from 16 and a fiery 42 from 32 respectively. They managed to make 144 runs in 18.5 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Khas XI bowlers could not suppress Benitoz and only 4 wickets were taken by the bowlers with the other two being run out.
Benitoz performed more consistently and at a higher level and took a much deserved win.
