ENM ‘hushed’ the Hush Puppies, in a manner of speaking by beating their opponents at the Naya Nazimabad Ground, on Tuesday.
Despite a tremendous effort by the Hush Puppies, in particular opener Usman Mazhar who scored 48 runs from 47 balls and Ahrar Ahmed who scored a blazing 48 from just 25 balls with most of his runs coming from the seven boundaries and one 6 that he hit, they could not set a target to beat ENM who overcame the challenge of 154 runs, in 18.1 overs for the loss of just four wickets. Imran Tahir took 2 wickets for ENM but a couple of run outs and the occasional wicket helped stop the flow of runs.
ENM were off to a moderate start but their innings really took off when Bilal Ahmed Chinioti stepped on the pitch and made 55 runs from 36 balls (not out) followed by a 32 from 20 by Humayun Alamgir. This gave their team a comfortable task to then overcome and helped them cruise to victory. Hush Puppies bowler Ali Nisar Saleem took 2 wickets in vain.
ENM outclassed Hush Puppies thanks to some heavy hitting from their middle order and won by 6 wickets.
