Malik Associates gave Rida Sports a run for their money but Rida Sports managed to come through in the end and win their match by five wickets at the RLCA Gulberg this past Monday.
Malik Associates were off to a dangerously slow start in their innings but a succession of good knocks from Habib Khan (20 from 13), Owais Aslam (28 from 29) and Obaid Ur Rehman (48 from 26) helped them achieve a competitive total of 155 in 20 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Hamza Qadir bowled phenomenally and took three wickets while Afroz Hussain and Aziz Ur Rehman took two and Naushad took one.
For Rida Sports, it was Saif Ur Rehman’s match winning 52 from 37 and Muhammad Salman’s 27 from 26 that helped them recover from their initial setback. Rida Sports chased the target till the very end and just managed to get the win in 19.5 overs for the loss of five wickets. Qismat Khan took two wickets while Shakir and Obaid Ur Rehman took one.
