Askari Life INC came in to bat first & were off to a flying start. Despite loosing a wicket early on their batsmen Dawar Khan & Shayan Rasheed put the pressure back on the bowling side. They had a partnership of 50+ runs taking their team in a very comfortable position. The duo was hitting the ball cleanly towards all parts of the ground. Shayan Rasheed was then dismissed after a fiery innings of 62 runs off just 39 deliveries. Dawar Khan soon followed him after his knock of 72 runs. The bowlers then fought back picking up wickets at regular intervals. The middle order completely collapsed. Farooq Chaudhry did the bulk of damage picking up 3 wickets & was supported by Abdul Rehman who picked up a couple of wickets. Askari Life INC posted a total of 191 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Adamjee Life Insurance came in to chase this daunting target & were off to a pretty similar start as Askari Life INC. They lost a wicket early on in the powerplay but Imran Chughtai & Usman Siddiqui had a partnership of 50+ runs taking their team in a comfortable position. Imran Chughtai was dismissed after 30 runs & soon another wicket fell. Mansoor Ahmed joined Usman Siddiqui but the duo was unable to build a partnership as Usman Siddiqui was dismissed after playing a sublime knock of 67 runs. The bowlers then dominated the innings with wickets falling at regular intervals & the runs were also dried up. Mansoor Ahmed couldn’t do much as he was running out of partners. He was dismissed after a fighting 33. Abdur Rehman & Shayan Rasheed picked up a couple of wickets not letting the batsmen settle.
