Arham Enterprises crowned champions in a rain-affected game

In an intense battle for the coveted title, EastEast Gate took on Arham Enterprises in the grand final of the 63rd Challengers Corporate Cup. The match witnessed some exceptional performances and an unfortunate rain interruption that eventually led to a victory for Arham Enterprises through the DLS method.

Batting first, East Gate faced an early setback as they lost a wicket. Jahanzaib Sultan and Abdul Basit Ghauri stabilized the innings with their patient knocks of 27 off 22 and 20 off 21, respectively. The momentum shifted when Adeel Meo unleashed a powerful assault, scoring a quickfire 44 off just 17 deliveries. Ammar Iqbal also made a valuable contribution, adding 39 off 21 balls to the team’s total. Towards the end, Ali Butt played a crucial cameo, smashing 26 off 18 balls. However, the remaining batsmen struggled to make an impact. Saqib Khan and Fazal ur Rehman were the pick of the bowlers for Arham Enterprises, taking three and two wickets, respectively. East Gate concluded their innings with a score of 180 for 9.

In response, Arham Enterprises began their chase but lost an early wicket. Opener Zakir Malik then took charge and played a scintillating innings, smashing 87 off just 43 deliveries. His aggressive stroke play put East Gate on the back foot. Arbaz Khan provided excellent support, contributing a crucial 53 off 31 balls. As Arham Enterprises approached the target, rain interrupted play, and the match had to be halted.

Following the rain interruption, the match was decided using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, At the time of the interruption, Arham Enterprises had reached 167 for 3 in 16.4 overs, falling short of the required target due to the rain delay.
