Acumen & Co v OGS (20 over match)
OGS batted first and were off to a solid start with opener Danish scoring 31 runs. Wickets fell regularly throughout the innings with the OGS batsmen struggling against a fierce bowling attack. Zyre Qazi played a fighting knock of 49 runs at a strike rate of 181 to give a much-needed boost to his team's total. Some brilliant work in the field, lead to 3 crucial run outs and the bowlers did well to restrict runs and hold back the opposition. OGS posted a target of 187 in 20 overs.
Acumen & Co were off to a disastrous start, losing opener Umair Hussain for duck! Syed Asad Jafri (40) and Daniyal Alvi (75) lead the recovery with a fantastic partnership that paved the way for a comfortable victory. While wickets fell regularly after Asad Jafri was out, a last minute surge by Badar Rais (25) sealed the victory for Acumen & Co. Daniyal Alvi was the anchor who kept his wicket intact for the duration of the match. OGS bowlers were completely helpess against the batting onslaught with only Tariq taking 2 wickets to give their team a fighting chance. There were also 3 fantastic run-outs on the field but it wasn't enough to stop the flow of runs. Acumen & Co scored 190 in 20 overs.
