Adamjee Insurance Tournament- Day 1

New Unit Titans v Adamjee Hurricanes

New Unit Titans batted first and were off to a decent start with both openers Mansoor (12) and Dilip (14) contributing runs with the bat. Once the duo were dismissed, Iqbal stepped in to lead his side with a blistering 26 run knock to put his team back on top. Aqil, Junaid and Usman took a wicket each for their side to rattle the opposition and stop the flow of runs. Minor contributions from the remaining batsmen however helped New Unit Titans post a sizeable target of 105 in 8 overs

Adamjee Insurance were off to a rocky start in their chase with opener Usman losing his wicket for duck. Shoaib was the pick of the bowlers for his side, dismissing the opening pair and leaving Adamjee Insurance reeling at 4 for the loss of 2 wickets. Junaid and Raza were the only notable contributors for their side, scoring 20 and 22 runs respectively to try and give their team a fighting chance in the game. With a target that sizeable however, Adamjee Insurance batsmen were unable chase down the target and were reduced to 88 in 8 overs.

New Unit Titans won by 17 runs.

Corporate Strikers v Head Office Warriors 

Corporate Strikers batted first and had a disastrous day out with the bat. The team was outdone by a solid display of bowling by the Warriors Unit. The opening pair of Anwer and Ghudran were the most notable contributors for their side, scoring 12 and 11 runs respectively. The rest of the team simply fell apart, unable to keep their wickets intact or the scoreboard ticking. Warriors bowlers Shoaib and Farooq did well to limit the opposition, taking a wicket each to stop the flow of runs. Corporate Strikers set a modest target of 53 in 8 overs.

Head Office Warriors lost opener Jahanzeb for just 2 runs early on in the innings. His partner Umer however scored a fiery 22 runs to set his team up for a comfortable victory. He was supported by Farooq whose 18 run innings was instrumental in helping his team over the line. Strikers bowlers were helpless against the batting line up. Wasim and Sufiyan took a wicket each but it wasn't enough to defend their team's total. Head Office Warriors chased down the target in 5.4 overs.

Head Office Warriors won by 8 wickets.

Sales Tigers v Head Office Lions

Head Office Lions batted first, completely falling apart. With the exception of opener Masood who top scored with his 25 run innings, the rest of the side were dismissed in single digits. Tigers bowler Nasir lead the attack, taking 2 key wickets to stump the opposition. Some brilliant piece of work in the field lead to two crucial run outs, leading the Lions helpless. Sami and Rehan also took a wicket each. Head Office Lions were unable to recover at any stage and eventually posted a target of 62 in 8 overs.

It was smooth sailing for Sales Tigers who comfortably chased down the target. Nasir, Rehan and Izhar each contributed valuable runs with the bat to help their team over the line. Nasir was eventually dismissed by Farhan but the Lions bowlers were unable to pick wickets at key times or stop the flow of runs. Sales Tigers chased down the target in 7 overs.

Sales Tigers won by 7 runs
