Bank Al Habib came up against Bank Islami Pvt Ltd. B in the 2nd KMD Multinational T20 Cricket Tournament. Batting first Al Habib got off to a shaky start as they lost Asad and Mujahid early. The partnership between Anis Sheikh and M. Siddique brought the innings back on track as they both played freely to release the early pressure that was created by the Islami bowlers. Anis (56) and Siddique (32) however both got out during a superb spell by Ayoob who returned figures of 4 for 15 to restrict Al Habib to 164 in 20 overs.
Ahmer Farooqui got the Islami chase off to a breezy start with 52 off 36 balls, an innings that included 5 fours and 3 sixes. However he continued losing partners at the other end and the chase seemed doomed before Asif came to the wicket and scored a quick fire 45 off 25. His untimely runout meant Zeeshan was left to take the team across the line. The equation came down to 3 needed off the last ball to tie the game but Zeeshan could only manage two before he was run out and Al Habib scrapped a one run victory to end a see saw battle.
