Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana produced a remarkable batting performance to chase down a huge target of 188 to beat the Strikers CC by six wickets at the 14th Challengers Cup – Semi Final
It was a high scoring encounter at the 14th Challengers cup- Semi Final, Strikers CC batted first and their openers Waqar Saleem and Saad Shah got them off to a good start both were dismissed for 18 and 28 runs respectively, this allowed Yasir Tanveer and Waqar Vakil to come in and both batsmen smashed the bowlers all around the park and put on a great partnership ensuring that their team reaches a respectable total. The pair together added more than 100 runs, Yasir Tanveer was dismissed for 73 while Waqar Vakil made 37. Ahsan Iqbal for Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana picked 3 wickets for 41 runs.
With a tough task ahead, Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana's openers walked out but it was not long before the opening partnership was broken by Abdullah dismissing Farhan Asif for 10. From there on Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana batsmen never looked back, Ahsan Iqbal scored usefull 65* of 41 and he made sure that there are no more hiccups in the chase, He was partnered first by Amin (31) and then by Adnan Ali Bajwa (38).
Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana chased down the target in 18.2 overs and won the game by 6 wickets.
