Benitoz Panthers and Hawks locked horns at SKBZ cricket ground as part of the 8th Residence cup. Benitoz batted first and in the absence of ace batsman, Danish Aziz, it was dismal show by their batsmen as opener Salman was out for 11 runs and Irfan followed after scoring just 16 runs. None of the other batsmen could get to double figures and only Sumail Aziz managed 16 runs as some good bowling from Hawks ensured that Benitoz could not get a big score and they were bundled out for just 101 runs. For Hawks, Yasir took 3 wickets while Faraz and Haider got 2 wickets each and Adil and Zain also contributed with a wicket each.
Chasing a low score, Hawks were confident due to their strong batting line up and opener Fahad with 38 runs off 18 balls at a strike rate of 211% ensured that they got off to a strong start while Faraz Qazi displayed his usual calmness and scored 40 runs off 27 balls. Zain contributed 14 runs as Hawks raced home in 11.3 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets. For Benitoz, Ahmed, Sumail, Rehan and Bilal got a wicket each.
