Islamabad Thunders won the toss and elected to bowl first against Shalimar Cricket Academy Blue at the Afsaneh presents KK and Multan Sultans KheloKhavateen tournament.
Shalimar Blues lost opener Saba Aslam cheaply for just 4 runs but recovered well after that. Opener Saleha Maqsood was in fine form, knocking an impressive 56 off 34 at the top including 8 boundaries and 1 six. Sughra provided support with a valuable 34 off 21 and Blues posted a very competitive total of 107 for 2 in 10 overs. Thunders bowlers were unable to take the momentum away from the batting side with only Harmain Nadeem and Abeera Maroof taking a wicket each.
In response, Islamabad Thunders top order had a few decent starts but were unable to capitalize further. In a strange twist of events, their top 3 batters were run out! Abeera Maroof seemed to be the only player with any fight in the chase, scoring 22 runs. Thunders were restricted to 69 for 4 in 10 overs.
Shalimar Cricket Academy Blue won by 38 runs.
