Allied Friends Win by 14 runs

BAWA DEFENCE UNITED vs ALLIED FRIENDS (20 OVER MATCH)

 

ALLIED FRIENDS batted first and were off to a shaky start as their top order was unable to stay on the crease. Despite a dismal show by the top order, opener Mustafa Mazhar displayed brilliance with his bat. His run a ball knock of 55 runs gave Allied Friends the much needed stability. Along him was Mustafa Dada who scored 38 runs facing 22 deliveries. His 3 fours and 2 sixes allowed Allied Friends to hope for a reasonable total. Omar Saigal played an exciting knock of 20 runs off just 9 balls with a massive strike rate of 222.2. His innings was ended by Sohail Mansha who was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 wickets for just 12 runs in 3 overs. Allied Friends finished with scoring 154 for the loss of 8 in 20 overs.

In their chase Bawa Defence United were off to a reasonable start. But as they lost opener Kashif Khalid, the rest of the batsmen just could not get hold of the situation. Though it seemed as if Imran Qamar was batting on a different pitch. He scored a fighting knock of 53 runs off 23 deliveries. He scored 6 fours and 3 sixes in his fightback. He received some assistance from Ahmed Bawa who scored a steady 29 off 34 balls. Frequent breakthroughs by the Allied Friends’ bowlers never allowed Bawa Defence United to gain the required momentum. Bawa Defence United ended up with a total score of 140 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, losing the game by 14 runs.
