AMADEUS SUPER CRICKETERS CLAIM THE TITLE

AMADEUS SUPER CRICKETERS vs INSURANCE ASSOCIATION OF PAKISTAN

2nd CORPORATE CUP FINAL

In the final of the 2nd Corporate Cup it was Amadeus Super Cricketers who batted first. Faizan Azam and Adnan Moiz provided an ideal start to the innings. Both played sensibly with decent strike rates throughout their innings. Adnan Moiz was unlucky not to reach his half century as he got out on 48 runs which he scored in 41 deliveries. Faizan Azam too made it to the forties, he fell prey to Sameer Butt on 44. And then it was Sameer Butt and Masoom of the Insurance Association of Pakistan who stole the show by their excellent bowling. Sameer Butt bagged 3 for 25 in his four overs and Masoom took 3 for 23. This bowling partnership ensured that no other batsmen gains the momentum and bank on the start provided by the openers. Amadeus finished with 158 for 6 after 20 overs.

To chase a 150 plus score in a final is never easy. The pressure is towering and that could be a reason why the IAP openers failed to provide a strong start. After the loss of the openers the middle order did its job well. Hussain Mustafa scored 26 runs off 22 balls before he was run out. Ahmed Nawaz scored a fighting knock of 42 runs but that was not enough to chase the total set by Amadeus Super Cricketers. The rest of the batting line up failed to impress as only three batsmen managed to reach double figures. Waliullah took 2 wickets for 20 runs in 3 overs and he was assisted by Umair Zaheer who took 2 for 11 in his 3 overs. Insurance Association of Pakistan were all out for 134 in 19.4 overs and Amadeus Super Cricketers won the match by 24 runs.

Amadeus Super Cricketers lifted the trophy of the 2nd Corporate Cup.
