Bank Al Habib presents KheloKhavateen Day 3

Day 3 of Bank Al Habib presents KheloKhavateen, co-sponsored by Captain, Dalda, Hobnob, Primary, Sana Safinaz, Candy Land, Atlas Asset Management, and FM 91, witnessed exhilarating semi-final clashes and a gripping grand final, showcasing the best of women’s cricketing talent.

Semi Final #1: Athletic Club vs BSL Green

In the first semi-final, Athletic Club batted first. Their openers, Ariba Hanif and Arijah Haseeb, provided a solid start, with Ariba scoring 27 off 13 balls and Arijah remaining unbeaten with a fantastic 36 off 17 balls. Athletic Club posted a competitive total of 87/2 in their allotted 6 overs. In response, BSL Green’s batting lineup struggled against Athletic Club’s bowling attack. Despite Mahika’s valiant effort with 20 runs off 13 balls, the rest of the lineup collapsed. Arijah Haseeb starred with the ball, picking up 2 wickets, while Masooma Jafri, Ariba Hanif, and Tooba contributed with a wicket each. Athletic Club emerged victorious by 23 runs, booking their spot in the grand final.

Semi Final #2: BSL Champions vs BSL Cricket Club

In the second semi-final, BSL Champions batted first after winning the toss. Despite contributions from Aliza (19 off 12) and Sana Uroof (11 off 5), BSL Champions posted a modest total of 63/6. In their chase, BSL Cricket Club’s opener Hurraina Sajjad played a crucial innings, remaining unbeaten with 17 off 12 balls, while Najiha’s explosive 37 off just 17 deliveries led the charge. Mehak picked up a wicket for BSL Champions, but it wasn’t enough as BSL Cricket Club secured victory by 8 wickets, advancing to the grand final.

Grand Final: Athletic Club vs BSL Cricket Club

In the highly anticipated grand final, Athletic Club set the tone with a formidable batting display. Opener Hafsa Khalid’s aggressive innings of 40 off just 18 balls laid the foundation, supported by Ariba Hanif’s unbeaten 18 off 13 deliveries. BSL Cricket Club’s bowlers, led by Anoosha with 2 wickets and Hurraina Sajjad with 1 wicket, tried to contain the run flow, but Athletic Club managed to post a challenging total of 86/4.

In their chase, BSL Cricket Club’s openers, Aroob Shah and Hurraina Sajjad, provided a solid start, with Hurraina scoring 35 off 18 balls. Despite Najiha’s unbeaten 13 off 4 deliveries towards the end, BSL Cricket Club fell short as Athletic Club’s bowlers maintained their composure. Athletic Club emerged victorious by 17 runs, clinching the championship title in a thrilling finale.

 

Day 3 concluded with Athletic Club’s jubilant celebrations, marking the culmination of a successful and exciting KheloKhavateen tournament.
