Barbarians defend 140 in a low scoring game

Classic Barbarians Vs A&I Properties

ACM Gold Night

Classic Barbarians batted first and were off to a poor start losing a wicket of first ball of the match and then two more quick wickets fell one after another this left them in a dire situation quite early in the innings. Rehan and Umair then got together and batted for a while as they tried to bring Classic Barbarians back in the game, they scored 16 and 36 respectively, they did not bat at a rapid pace as they knew they situation and played accordingly. Once they were dismissed a quick and much needed impetuous came from down the order in the face of Shahid and Ali. Ali was the top scorer and scored a brilliant 45 of just 26 and played a crucial role, he smashed 4 massive sixes whereas Shahid gave him good support with 19. On the other hand, the bowling was also very good from A&I Properties and they did not give much of the loose balls and also kept picking wickets at regular intervals. The pick of the bowlers were Umer and Anwar as they picked up 2 wickets each. In the end Classic Barbarians managed to get to 140.

Just like Classic Barbarians, A&I properties also lost an early wicket and then they started the repair work. Ahmed and Fayyaz added more than 50 runs together during their stay, they scored 37 and 23 runs respectively. This was a good partnership between the two and it was carried forward by Idrees Durrani who scored 27 of 30 balls. But the bowling was of high quality as even after so much contribution from the top order they did not allow them to dictate term in this fixture. Madni Bawany was impeccable with his line and length and was the pick of the bowler with some distance as he picked up 3 crucial wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs. He was supported by Naveed and Salman who picked up 2 wickets each. This effort meant that Classic Barbarians were successful in defending 140 and they won by 18 runs in the end.
