Bin Qasim and Medicam faced off in the Dollar East Premier League on 20-11-2015 in order to book a place in the finals of the tournament against Royal Cricket Club.
Medicam, having been beaten once already in the tournament by Bin Qasim, were more inclined to defend a total in this pressure game. They managed to post a score of 164 at the loss of 6 wickets batting first. Arsalan Farzand played a major role in setting up this total as he scored a splendid knock of 85 in just 57 balls, including 5 boundaries and 4 sixes. Shahzar Hassan and Arif Khan also scored short cameos to help Medicam reach a respectable 164. Mohammad Akber was the stand out bolwer for Bin Qasim, as he picked up 2 wickets at the expense of just 26 runs.
Chasing this total under lights was going to be a tricky endeavour, but the Bin Qasim top order was equal to the challenge. The openers got off to a cracking start as Fauzul Hassan set the ball rolling with his fiery 25 of just 17 balls, including 2 fours and a six. However, he was caught on his pad in front of the wicket by Toheed Khan, and this left the entire burden of the chase on the shoulders of Anus Ahmed and Fahad Jabbar. They handled the pressure brilliantly, putting up a solid 50 run partnership for the third wicket. Anus scored 52 in just 37 balls at an impressive strike rate just a shade over 140 while Fahad remained unbeaten on 37. Bin Qasim was brought to victory in emphatic fashion by Yasir Muneer. He spread complete carnage all over the ground with his entertaining knock of 30 in just 13 balls, to ensure his team booked a place in the finals against Royal CC.
