Buffields vs Al Bari C.C
In a low scoring fixture Buffields held their nerve to beat Al Bari C.C by 13 runs at RLCA.
Buffileds batted first and were off to horrible start, Muneeb and Zain had to make a long walk back to pavilion, Azam dismissed them both for a duck. It was then the test of skills for Buffields, they knew they cannot afford losing any more wickets and have to get their team to a reasonable total to have something for their bowlers to ball at. Saad Saleem and Adnan Akhtar did exactly that both were cautious at the start but then started to play some shots. Adnan Akhtar in particular was in fine hitting mood whereas Saad Saleem made sure to keep milk the bowlers for singles and doubles to give Adnan more strike. Adnan Akhtar tried one shot too many and was stumped of Abdur Rehman bowling for a very well made 44 of 26. Saad Saleem also lost his wicket to Wajid for 27. After them there was no major contribution from other batsmen and they managed to score 128 and were all out in 19.3 overs.
Al Bari C.C had to only play sensibly. They had a target in front of them which was not so big one and even after a good opening partnership others could not live up to expectation. Bilal and Mahaish got their team off to a good start but the only thing lacking was a good strike rate both batted for some time and scored more than 50 runs together. After their dismissal no one took the responsibility. Al Bari C.C were lacking a plan and even after playing their 20 overs they were not able to chase down 128. Hammad Tariq was the pick of the bowler picking up 3 wickets. In the end Al Bari C.C managed to score only 115 and lost by 13 runs.
