Butt Brothers triumph over Gulberg Gymkhana

Butt Brothers came in to bat first & were off to a flying start. Despite loosing a wicket inside the powerplay they were scoring at a high rate. Asif Siddiqui & Shoaib Akhter put up a decent partnership at the top. Asif Siddiqui departed after playing a cameo of 29 runs off 17 deliveries. Muhammad Sabir came in & he played with the same intent. Muhammad Sabir played a solid knock of 26 runs off 13 deliveries. Shoaib Akhter joined him soon after scoring 47 runs off 37 deliveries. The bowlers then made their way back into the match. The bowlers managed to pickup wickets at regular intervals not allowing the batsmen to settle in. Kashif Khan came in & scored 23 off 17. The rest of the batting lineup completely collapsed as Muhammad Musharaf & Atif Ali lead the bowling attack picking up 3 wickets each. Ghanzafar Ghani managed to pickup a couple of wickets as well. Butt Brothers posted a total of 169 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Gulberg Gymkhana came in to chase this target & were off to a shaky start. Despite loosing 3 wickets inside the powerplay they were scoring at a healthy rate. Farukh Rizvi & Hassan Jafri put up a partnership of 50+ runs after the fall of 3 early wickets keeping their team in the run chase. The duo scored at a healthy rate picking up boundaries at regular intervals. Farukh Rizvi played a fiery innings of 52 runs off just 34 deliveries. Hassan Jafri on the other hand played cautiously scoring 45 runs off 38 deliveries. Once the duo was dismissed the bowlers made their comeback picking up wickets at quick successions not allowing the batsmen to settle in. The rest of the batting lineup completely collapsed. Muhammad Sabir was unpayable with the ball in hand as he single handedly picked apart the batting lineup picking up 4 wickets. He found good support from Mir Azizullah & Abdul Majid Shah who picked up a couple of wickets each. Gulberg Gymkhana were bowled out for 127 runs in 17.3 overs.
